Western civ rejects binary thinking at the highest levels while polarizing it to the lowest. The use of conditional logic by a few to develop polarizing concepts passed down to many in restrictive dialectics. In this way the western tradition has always played with fire. Heraclitus called this strife.

Understanding a spectrum can bend its extremes to consummate joint ends into forward momentum. Like a line bent into an arrowhead with each extreme joined at its tip. Arrow dynamic. Gliding like a missile.

The danger here has always been speed. Speed is technology. Technology is technique driven by knowledge derived from understanding, or in rare instances the divine intervention of cosmic fire smelten meteoric ore fallen from the sky. But the control was always understanding. Technique was intuitive and knowledge was rational. Both could only be bottlenecked through secrecy. But secrets can be lost, and if they are, your civilization is fucked. So understanding had to be the restrictive element because it was irrational. A concept could survive in the public commons while being kept privately understood through perceptive shifts between literal and figurative interpretations.

Art is used to moderate the speed of technology. Speed is time. They moderate time with art. Newtonian time is retarded. By that I mean rational. Time is just the measurement of physical motion, like sand falling through an hour glass. The arms of an analogue watch only point at the numbers. The numbers aren’t real. Digital time is fake time. There is nothing to bend back except numbers. Taking two steps backwards is walking forwards two steps, backwards. Addition not subtraction. The only way to time travel is acceleration.

The nietzscheans know this, but want to dash madly across the tight rope into the safety of apocalypse. They say its to avoid stagnation, muscle cramps and such, to burn the fat through rigorous cardio, but secretly, they want to see beyond their time. Evangelicals are Nietzchean. Nietzcheans are evangelical. Do you see? Two ends of a spectrum can bend into an arrow with forward momentum. To slow down you bend these ends back into a polemic for balance.

This is why the heracliteans put the holy spirit between a rational god and irrational Christus. Speed. To moderate the speed between science, rationalism, and religion through art.

This is why the Catholics hate Jesuits, because they hate speed. They hate speed because heaven is slow motion, all calm and serene and unchanging. And what was Leibniz doing, writing to a Jesuit priest in China about the I Ching, right before he came up with the universal language for computation? Why is the holy bible laced with the geometry of the cube? Why are the ancient writing scripts geometric? Why was there an 8x8 checkerboard on 5th millennium BC Susun pottery?

Anyway, I was thinking about the Rathenau assassination, and how it seemed like a misstep in history, like Mirabeau dying on the eve of revolution, perhaps poisoned, a sudden lapse in steersmanship causing the ship of states to veer off coarse into some unforeseen opportunity, for better or worse. This is why the western tradition plays with fire.

I went to Quigley on this point but he wasn’t interested. All he would say of Rathenau is he prolonged the issuance of war bonds during WW1 to sink nation states further into debt.

So I turned to Pynchon, who reckons Rathenau was Caesar of a new system.

Quigley gives a good anaylsis for this.

Now, according to the histories, Rathenau was assassinated by a paramilitary faction associated with the Sturmabteilung(SA), whose leadership were later purged during the night of the long knives by the Schutzstaffel(SS). Hitler was initially backed by the SA, but after his stint in prison alongside Rudolf Hess, the SS was setup as a praetorian guard to protect him from the SA as he shifted his allegiance from militarists to industrialists.

Rathenau was allied through his father to international financiers like J.P Morgan, hence the name GERMAN General Electric. Quigley gives the real power situation between industrial and financial elites in the early 20th century.

The industrial system created and controlled by financiers during the 19th century, had by the early 20th, started to fall under the control of the industrialists they had financed to build it. The major difference between the two groups, somewhat rivals and somewhat allied(against the poors), was this:

Industrialists owned stocks.
Financiers owned bonds.

The financiers had controlled the industrialists through bonds. But as capitalism progressed into monopoly capitalism, increased profit margins allowed the industrialists to become self-financing. The financiers had tried two things to combat this.

First, in the late 19th century they started to ally with certain industrialists against others, and helped these secure monopolies. In the United States, British financiers from the City of London had allied with the Rockefellers through J.P Morgan, who owned General Electric. In Germany this had been Emil Rathenau, who formed German General Electric(AEC).

Second, the financiers still had control over nation state government through purchase of government bonds, so started using these governments as a proxy for controlling industrialist monopolies through anti-trust laws. The trust busting Roosevelt family were old money bankers representing the interests of American financiers.

The complexity of these dynamics leads to all kinds of confusion. The financiers DID NOT want to get rid of the gold standard because their control over the govt was through the purchase of govt bonds. The industrialists wanted to get rid of the gold standard because they came to realize that this control over government could be broken by devaluing the national currency. Which is what the German industrialists had done during the Weimar hyperinflation.

This is confusing because after 1930 this entire system was changed so pension funds, not financiers, were the major purchasers of government bonds. The financiers and industrialists had allied against the middle class. The financiers moved into stocks, property, philanthropy, and basically became synonymous with industrialists in a unified oligarchy that ruled over a new corporate system of public ownership with private custodianship. This is why custodian banks now control the corporate system through downstream mutual funds like BlackRock and Vanguard.

Communism can be conceptualized as financiers wanting government control of industry. Fascism can be conceptualized as industrialists wanting industry control of government. The underlying point of contention is control of national currency. After WW2 this control was removed from governments entirely and centralized within the Bank for International Settlements. An institution linked to the management of IG Farben during the 1930s.

So the IG Farben directors seek the advice of Rathenau, their true corporate fuhrer, for some clarity on this confusing state of international affairs.

Mauve - A “synthetic” purple dye derived from coal tar. Before mauve, purple dye had to be “naturally synthesized ” from the mucus of a sea snail the greeks called Murex brandaris. The scarcity of this substance, along with the complexity of its refinement into a dye, is why purple came to distinguish elite status.

It was known commercially as tyrian purple in Tyre, but had a pharmacological purpose on the island of Crete, where it was used as an ingredient in a mysterious drink given to initiates of the Orphic mysteries.

Chemically, the substance was identified as 6,6'-Dibromoindigo in 1909 by a chemist named Paul Friedlander. According to Ammon Hillman, who lost his mind deep within the ancient greek medical texts, so the perfect source really; this chemical agent was used in a death and resurrection ritual, in which an initiate was given some snake venom concoction to almost kill them, before being revived by an antidote. Similar to how people nearly death from a heroin overdose and are brought back to life with a shot of adrenaline. Or the concept of edging, but applied to life itself.

William Perkin discovered mauve, or synthetic purple, in 1856 while studying at the Royal College of Chemistry in London. Now, if you follow the line of erudition for Perkin’s research, you will get to the Illuminati. William Perkins was trained by August Hofmann. Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, as President of the Royal Society after infecting the Windsor bloodline, appointed Hofmann head of a new Royal College of Chemistry on reccomendation of Justus Liebig. August Hofmann had been trained by Justus Liebig. Justus Liebig was trained by Karl Kastner. Karl Kastner was trained by Johann Gottling at the University of Jena. Johann Gottling was appointed to his position there, an Illuminati hotspot, by Johann Wolfgang Goethe. You can wikipedia all this.

You can also wikipedia the following. Walther Rathenau and his father were part of the ‘Gesellschaft der Freunde’, or “Society of Friends”. This was an enlightenment society similar to the Illuminati, but for Jews, founded in that ripe year of 1792, by scions of the banking families who became the German faction of international financiers orbiting the Rothschilds, whose powerful branches were outside of Germany in London and Paris. These are names like Guggenheim, Mendelssohn, Oppenheimer, Warburg, and of course, Rathenau. Most curiously, after Rathenau’s assassination, this society of friends started adding names like Carl Friedrich von Siemens, Emil Georg von Stauss, Hans Luther, and Hjalmar Schacht.

But this is just finance, or the metaphysics of Hitler's rise to power. What we are really interested in is the physical chemistry of the underlying technology. Not the software, but the microprocessor running it. Which Pynchon reckons headed west into America.

The Rapello treaty allowed the reichswehr to circumvent the treaty of versailles, allowing the Germans to remilitarize and the Russians to industrialize under communism, both necessary for ww2. The ‘von Maltzan’ Pynchon references is Adolf Von Maltzan, a member of the old Prussian nobility who worked closely with Rathenau on soviet foreign policy, before becoming German foreign minister in ‘25 then dying in a suspicious plane crash in ‘27. A later member of his family named Christian von Maltzan would acquire John Stamford’s pedophile empire ‘Spartacus’ when it fell under investigation during the 1980s. Jung calls this a synchronicity. But it's to be expected as the SA were pedophiles of the dorian tradition.

The reichwehr’s clandestine rearmament happened under a general named Friedrich Paulus, who was married to Elena Rosetti-Solescu of the Rossetti family. This is 16th century Italian nobility who are referenced at the beginning of GR in relation to botanical pharmacology and the compost from which pirate prentice grows his bananas. Very obscure, but their most famous member seems to be an artist named Dante Rossetti, who like Nietzsche, became addicted to a date rape drug called chloral hydrate, which was first synthesized by the aforementioned Justus Liebig.

Pynchon traces another line of chemistry erudition chemists from Justus Liebig over to America, where Wallace Carothers synthesized nylon for du Pont chemicals.

This is home territory, so Pynchon uses fictional characters Laszlo Jamf, Herbert Ganister, and Lyle Bland to guide us over into this true succession, which in real world terms can be traced from Justus Liebig to August Hofmann, who taught American chemist Charles Jackson. Charles Jackson taught Roger Adams. Roger Adams taught Wallace Carothers. While working for du Pont, Carothers synthesized nylon 66 using the patent work of something called neoprene, which du Pont acquired from a priestly chemist named Julius Nieuwland, either the inadvertent discoverer or tacit inventor of the chemical warfare agent lewisite, which interestingly doubled as an antidote for arsenic poisoning. Nieuwland had a heart attack in 1936, shortly after Carothers synthesized nylon 66 shortly before being involuntarily committed to a mental hospital and committing suicide in ‘37. du Pont then patented Nylon 66 in ‘38, the same year a chemist named Paul Schlack synthesized Nylon 6 for IG Farben, which was patented in ‘39.

The key ingredient used to synthesize nylon is something called cadaverine. This is a natural chemical produced by organic matter when it dies. It’s literally the smell of rotting flesh. Chemical death. It was discovered by Ludwig Brieger in 1885 during his research into snake venoms, particularly those applied to arrows. I know what he was looking into, think - scythians. Strangely, cadaverine is also found in semen and can be used as an antidote for aluminum toxicity. It is also found in coal tar. And this is where Pynchon is at his best.

In the Iliad, Apollo washes black blood from the corpse of Sarpedon and anoints it with Ambrosia.

Why do they call it tartar in dentistry? And why do they then call tartar, calculus, in latin?

In a section of Pynchon’s V. set in 1956, a dentist named Dudley Eigenvalue travels to a foundry in Colorado springs with Clayton ‘bloody’ Chiclitz, the CEO of an aerospace defense contractor called Yoyodyne.

There is only one titanium mine in Colorado springs: the Iron Hill Carbonatite complex. It was acquired by du Pont chemicals in 1956.

Iron hill had deposits of titanium, niobium, and tantalum. All three minerals have cubic crystal systems and are superconducting. Titanium is used by dentists, hence the connection to Eigenvalue, but whose name is a reference to geometric variables.

du Pont were specifically after niobium and tantalum. Tantalum is named after the Greek titan Tantalum, and niobium after his daughter Niobe. Both minerals share the same ore, thus to get niobium it must be extracted from tantalum. In the greek myth, Tantalum stole Nektar and Ambrosia from the Olympian gods and gave it to man, just like Prometheus did with fire.
